Don't mean to point out the obvious but If you guys can get pics up asap of the track/ work done even if it has to be after some work is done tomorrow you will quadruple your chances of getting people there from Sydney etc...
Ill put them up on other sites etc...

dudes just went down and stacked up some more tyres round the end of front straight corner burm to prevent ppl from dropping off the track as that area was a hot spot for ppl falling off when racing was prevailant at imcc some time ago. plus it gives a nice look to the corner of tyres.
and also staked an extra row of tyres on top of back left corner burm for same reason i also put down a piece of 3 meter pvc pipe butted up against a tyre for the inside corner at the corner at end of back straight is only temporary can be moved anytime (isnt fixed) tomorrow if not happy with it or if your happy with it we can screw the tyres together fill with rocks and leave as the burm baracade.
i feel all thats needed to do now is get the track surface ready and put down some more agg or rope down so ppl dont cut the track to have the most important parts out of the way ready for race day.
anything further will just be cosmetic.
peace out.

Here are pics of IMCC under heavy track work from thursday. We made 60% progress & tomorrow (sat) will see the final touches done. Please don't take these pics as race ready - as grooming & compacting will follow after the remaining major works are done in the morning. Final pics to be posted sat afternoon on completion.

i was thinking about spraying some of the burm and infield area's with spray paint may be cheaper to just buy a tub of paint. to make it look the part. almost like a nice onraod track with infield paint.
give drivers a good visual on corners to show where the burm slopes up and some of the infield sections to give a better visual also. would make the place look like a work of art haha.
and also i like the tyre idea if youse make it look tidy wold give a good visual effect of a rally/go kart race track gives it a good racing feel to the track.

Were you thinking green?
Was talking with Ethan about growing grass on the infields etc
Ethan knows where we can get ground sprayed with a sticky seed/cotton mixture that's green & makes grass grow, councils use it on new roadways and estates.
70c per sqm
May be a touch more than a tin of paint to do our track but could have great benefits.

Filled in some of the holes and watered them in yesterday arvo. Track held together great. Though I fixed up some bike tyre ruts too, looks like the kids are getting on it. I think we still need to look at some more drainage solutions too, looks like a couple of places will still hold water. When's the next working bee?

some of the livo 'boys' mentioned to me on sunday the tracks not to bad at all but will need a heavy roll before proline tho because there will be alot more cars there for the 'meet' and the track wouldnt hold out as it did on sunday (was only begining to break up in spots) with twice as many cars or further more.
not sure on income wise that was made this sunday for the club just may be enough for a roller for proline tho.
soak the track (leaving sprinklers on) plenty of water then let the surface dry enough so it doesnt stick then roll it before the stuff below dries. or if it stick could put down carpet (easy to get) and roll over the carpet.
as i know some guys mentioned malasses. might be worth talking to matt hope from lrrcc and ask him what process he used when rolling the track with malasses im not sure if they just watered the track heavily with melassis mix and water after they rolled it or not.
u will find it will hold the surface together alot better and will stay smoother for longer. not to mention having an even better (rolled) surface then it did on sunday (compacted)

yep true may have to end up doing that as we were discussing this with the roller may stick to surface i think if there is a way possible to roll it while it has some moisture in anyway (as this was achieved when the original now existing clay was laid down and rolled back in 2007) would result in a firmer/smoother compacted surface(like glass) (holding up to car usage longer) but may not be possible to do so due to clay sticking to roller on the other hand rolling dry would compact surface but not completely and proper compared to doing with a small amount of moisture in the clay
would may well be a waste of money to spend on a roller (with little club funds) to hire for the day to do it dry as ethen has a compacter which would result in similar surface without spending on a roller.
hense wetting/soaking then letting dry enough for no sticking to roller i think would work but without trial and error we wont know so anyway upto the boys can only suggest.
if it was rolled at the correct timing between slight moisture and drying completely would achieve this in my opinion. as opposed to rolling bone dry. (waste of money)

(waste of money) Rolling it bone dry dosnt achieve anything only makes the surface more dusty trying to roll mellasses in is to hard as it sticks to the roller unless u keep watering the track The best way that I have found that works is a good watering and a really good roll then another good watering then apply the mellasses the more u apply the more it holds the surface U can get a roller from hire one for around $250 and they drop it off on a sat morning and pick it up monday morning for $250

yep now your talking................. spoke to matt hope (liverpool offroad president) said to soak track and roll it just after it loses its tackiness no malasses involved until after the roll your correct.
and to backup your 50/50 mix of malassis yes he did say to hose 50/50 malassis/water on the jumps and corners but not as much needed on straights sections where track not as prevailent to flogging out to save on malassis.
