Soggy on the last turn and halfway down the straight as of 4pm today, the rest of the track is dry.
Hope the wind we are getting here right now will help the drying...

Track WAS looking good until some little tigers twisted the back fence tap and left it running on the track.
Someone tried to make good by laying carpet over it.
This was tues/wed when noticed by me & kezza.
Hopefully it will have dried out enough for this weekend.
Tap fabrication time I think....

Dan and myself swept the water off the track yesterday afternoon (friday). Looking like it might be wet still for Saturday but should be good on Sunday. If anyone goes to the track on Saturday and has a look post up an update. Keen to have a drive if its dry enough.

Can we get the lock changed back on the power board so we can recharge batteries when down at the track? Thanks.

when the track is more user friendly (less prone to breaking cars and newbie friendly) you guys will start to get some newbie interest. (local newbies)
and if the track is kept maintained and surface deemed good condition the more advanced drivers will turn up also.
posting pics of repair work and rebuild work always is an attraction of interest. the best idea being giving as many ppl of a wider spectrum from newbies to the medium and more expert drivers a 'fun' 'experience'
i love the track i have no probs with layout and jumps but if i was a newbie i may be put off by them. if theyre made smaller but 'fun' like rythems will give most interest imo.
example the double into double at liverpool (only small) or the double into double at the new maitland layout. is fun to drive on but hardly breaks cars. just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks for the feedback Tom.
FYI, I have a power meter and measured the cost of charging my batteries. A 3S 5000mA battery costs me a bit under 2cents to fully charge, and a 4S 5500mA LiPO costs a bit over 3cents (@ 28cents /kWhr). If the clubs power bills are too high, if you want me to bring in my power meter to measure the electrical use of some of the clubs electrical appliances, to help with your decision making, please let me know.

I agree with this, a good while ago the mentality of a few within the club where on the mindset that why make a track 1/10 friendly when they don't show up to help...This sort of negativity was the shortfall. The Current layout while is ok for 1/8th, newbies to 1/8th will struggle until they get there skills up, but before that happens they break their car & usually you don't see them again, with that it's certainly NOT 1/10th friendly. The word floating about last time i was at the track that people who have 10th scale don't bother showing up due to the nature of the track. Perhaps a reform, or a rebuild into a "euro" style track is in order so that more classes can be covered & more people catered for.

Without being rude we have plans for the track we plan working days and usually the same 4 or 5 ppl turn up week after week I don't know if anyone seems to realize that it takes man power and money to keep the track well maintained both of which their is not enough of most of the work done to date has been at my personal expense machinery compactors plumbing etc . And to be quite strait forward we have a lot of people who winge and complain that it cost 40 bucks for membership and winge about the track and so on but yet they never show to help!! when the track is more user friendly (less prone to breaking cars and newbie friendly) you guys will start to get some newbie interest. Are we doing any track work for Sundays race the back sweeping turn needs a bit of a flatten out ,I can be down there after lunch on Saturday ,and yes our track may not be in the greatest condition but look at what we have to work with ,Very little money to spend to get the equip we need to do the work ,we also have a council which doesn't exactly give us a big hand in either maintenance or in the security of the track and this is one of our major problems ,as it seems every time it rains we get kids on there with their bmx and totally stuff the track or they turn on the tap at the back of the track and flood it ,also all the trees that surround the track are good for shade in summer but stop any sun hitting the front straight and drying it out when its wet ,and as our Pres. has stated that it seems that we only get the same 5-6 people turn up to do the work ,if people would like the track to be a bit better for all experienced drivers as well as noobies we need those experienced drivers and noobies to come and help with the work

I'm all to happy to help when it comes to major track work, but general maintenance is usually out due to where I live.

All agreed, I say we have mini maintenance work 1st half of sat prac days before our sun meets as doing this 2 weeks out of a general meet leaves the track open for damage...
2nd half of sat for practice and sun race.
This will make it a mini working bee once a month....
Should be easy for everyone to show unless work commitments...

that fridge isn't the old one that used to be there ,the one that is there I gave to the club back in January 2012 ,I think it was one of last times Dan Irwin was down there in a admin/committee type roll and it was only 18months old then , but im sure is doesn't need to be on all the time only the day before a race day

the fridge turned off during the week and on the saturday for coldies on sunday.
takes a whole as a club to commit.
i have no access to machinery however if i had machinery i would 1) remove the front triples.
2) re-do rythem section in center of track. for a 3 double mid section. or 2 double section
smaller jumps more rythem less breakages.
i dont mind showing for maintenance days. .

to cater for 1/10ths (if they showed up) would be to have a cut away at the back after the burm so to cut out the center rythem section of the track for the shorter layout.
